Joseph I. Davies papers
The Davies papers include papers, lecture notes, glass slides, and transparencies produced by Joseph I. Davies, who came to Rice Institute (later Rice University) in 1914 with Julian Huxley as his lab assistant, later received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Rice, and from 1929 to 1966 served as a member of the Rice faculty. The glass slides and transparencies taken by Davies include scenes of the early development of the Rice campus as well as later campus scenes and individuals.

Nunn taught architecture classes at the Rice Institute and was an alumnus as well.
Joe D. Thomas papers
This collection contains a series of typed letters (1981-1982) from Professor Thomas, a member of the Rice University English faculty, to Nancy Boothe, Director of the Woodson Research Center, concerning the history of the university. Also included are two duplicate series that are collections of verse and prose observations on numerous topics, intended for circulation. A miscellaneous file includes notices and photographs relating to Professor Thomas’ Mark Twain programs.
Allan H. Stevenson Papers
This collection contains Allan H. Stevenson’s research of early paper-making and printing. Included in the collection are samples of early watermarked paper, facsimiles of watermarks, correspondence and manuscript notes by Stevenson, and reviews of publications. Also included are: proof copies of papers by Stevenson and other scholars, miscellaneous printed material on the subject of printing, conferences and exhibitions, and presentations from other scholars.
