This collection contains the personal and academic papers of Houston architect O. Jack Mitchell. Included in the collection are Mitchell’s consulting projects, Houston organizations projects, numerous slides of cities around the world, film reels of lectures, and various other architectural materials.

Arthur E. Hall papers
Arthur E. Hall (1901-1978), one time Chairman of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music (1953-1973), is known as a composer of orchestral, choral and chamber ensemble music. His papers include correspondence, original compositions, arrangements, settings, and harmonizations by Hall, as well as audio recordings of his performances and materials from the Charles Ives family.

Francis Loewenheim papers
This is a collection of the papers of Francis Loewenheim, who taught history at Rice University from 1940s to 1996. The papers contain family correspondence, class notes, drafts and manuscripts for his writings. There are numerous family photographs and also photographs of musicians and composers. This collection consists of 10 linear feet (10 boxes) covering the years 1948 to 1996.

Papers of Holmes McNeely, director of the Rice [University] Owl Band 1951-67, with material including brochures, news clippings, photographs, slides, CDs of Rice Owl Band and Jefferson Davis High School Band concerts under McNeely’s direction, bound volumes of band music, and Rice Owl Band uniforms.
