16. Music collections

This archival collection includes rapper and entreprenuer Scotty ATL's grill molds from actor, writer and producer Issa Rae; rapper, producer, and actor Big Boi; Atlanta rapper T.I.; and an oral history interview with Scotty ATL, by Corey Garrett, CERCL Community Archives Affiliate.

This collection consists of correspondence, financial information, newsletters, newsclippings, photographs, recordings, memorabilia, and uniforms related to Rice University Bands, including MOB, Rice Jazz Ensemble, and Rice Concert Band.

The central item in this collection is a remarkable contemporary manuscript report of Robert Schumann's conducting at Dusseldorf, written by W. Wortmann, deputy mayor of Düsseldorf and a leading member of the administration of the Allgemeiner Musikverein (of whose orchestra and chorus Schumann had been appointed director in 1850).

Paul Cooper’s papers document his professional career as a composer, music critic, author and teacher, at Rice University, University of Michigan, and University of Cincinnati. Formats include correspondence, compositions (scores), course notes and outlines, photographs, notes, performance, programs, and sound recordings; dates range from 1943-1995.
