Abstract

Arthur E. Hall (1901-1978), one time Chairman of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music (1953-1973), is known as a composer of orchestral, choral and chamber ensemble music. His papers include correspondence, original compositions, arrangements, settings, and harmonizations by Hall, as well as audio recordings of his performances and materials from the Charles Ives family.

This collection consists primarily of musical scores composed by two twentieth-century residents of Houston, Texas, Frantz H. Brogniez and John R. Cardone.
