Abstract

The Association of Retired Rice University Faculty (ARRUF) is a multidisciplinary community of full and associate members drawn from all ranks of Rice University faculty and their families. This collection currently holds the Academic Memoirs Project, created by the Association of Retired Rice University Faculty.

Academic and professional papers of William E. Gordon, member of the faculty of Rice University 1966-1985, now Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Space Physics and Astronomy and of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with material related to his work in developing and administering the Arecibo Ionospheric Observatory in Puerto Rico.

This collection contains typescripts, proofs, correspondence, microfilm, and notecards of Madeleine Alcover for her critical editions and studies on Cyrano de Bergerac; Cyrano’s family, as well as his writer-friends Charles d’Assoucy, Le Royer de Prades, Henry Le Bret, and others. The collection also contains documents and correspondence related to Alcover's academic career.
