Biographical / Historical
Anne Marie Smith received her BA from Rice Institute in 1938, as well as a Masters of Arts in 1940. She studied with Floyd S. Lear, with whom she maintained contact. She later married and took the name Ewing.
James DePitts graduated from Rice University in 1969. He has stayed connected to the music scene in Houston and has played in a Zydeco band named Grand Texas with Steve Bing.
