22. Rice University faculty and administrative records

Records of the President's Office Executive Committee, formed in August 1968 by President Pitzer to function after Pitzer's resignation. Includes minutes, memoranda, correspondence, notes, and materials pertaining to the Board of Governors.

The collection consists of membership and financial records of the Theta Chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society, from 1930 through 2000. There are yearly membership lists, records of dues received and expenditures made. Initiation programs are also included, as are records of donations that established the André Bourgeois Pi Delta Phi Award in 1994.

Records of Notaries Public at Rice University, maintained as permanent record of notarial acts.

The collection consists of materials created between October 2008 and January 2010 concerning a possible merger between Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine. There are a preliminary technical report, news clippings, correspondence, meeting records of the Rice Faculty Senate, and descriptions of past and possible future collaborative activity between Rice and B.C.M.

The collection consists of planning materials in preparation for the 1990-91 celebration of the centennial of the charter establishing Rice Institute. The collection includes the committee’s charge from President George Rupp, records of committee and subcommittee membership, notes, memos, meeting minutes, recommendations, reports, and correspondence.

These records reflect the work of the Rice University Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies search committee in 2007.

The material in this collection consists of material pertaining to Rice University's search for a Vice Provost of Academic Affairs. Files present include a list of potential candidates, candidate CVs, committee correspondence, and interview guidelines.

The G. King Walters academic service papers represent Walters' participation on committees and task forces at Rice University. Walters graduated from Rice Institute in 1953 with a degree in physics. He was hired by Rice as a Physics professor in 1963. Walters remained at Rice through retirement in 1999 and beyond, advancing through the professorial ranks to chairman of the physics department, assistant dean of natural sciences, and dean of natural sciences.
