27. Texas and local history

The collection documents the history of Frank Lee Berry, Jr. and his family. Included are photographs, correspondence, genealogical information, and family records.

The Ingeborg H. Larrey photograph collection covers a 25-year period between 1980-2005. The collection is primarily Houston musicians and international locations photography, including color slides, prints and photo negatives. (5 boxes)

Houston Canoe Club was established in 1964, and pursues all types of paddlesport, from canoeing to kayaking, quietwater, whitewater, touring and racing. The records in this collection reflect the club's activities such as meetings, events and training. Formats include meeting minutes, correspondence, photographs, financial records, event planning records and ephemera such as event t-shirts.

Research materials for the 2011 monograph published by Louis Aulbach entitled Buffalo Bayou : An echo of Houston's wilderness beginnings. Formats include typescript drafts of text for the book, notes, and images and copies of primary sources consulted such as photographs, newspaper and journal articles, and more. This is an entirely digital collection, with access facilitated by staff at the Woodson Research Center.

This collection contains correspondence, programs, and other papers regarding or created by the Chinese American Citizens Alliance (CACA), related to the national organization or to the Houston Lodge specifically, as well as personal papers of Edward K.T. Chen. It also contains a variety of materials about Asian-Americans and Chinese-Americans. (3 boxes)

This collection consists of business papers, articles, photographs, and awards created by or about Gordon Quan, immigration lawyer and former Houston City Council member. Also included are articles and items about the Houston community in general and the Houston Asian American community specifically.

This collection comprises records of the Kiwanis Club of Houston’s board of directors, committees, projects, finances, conventions, and retired members, as well as records from the Kiwanis Foundation of Houston, the Kiwanis Texas-Oklahoma District, and Kiwanis International.

This is a collection of oral history interviews of members of the Zoroastrian Association of Houston (ZAH), conducted by fellow members of the ZAH.
