Personal correspondence

Many of these letters are courtship letters to Wilson's future wife, Mary Grier, containing information on the aspirations and attitudes of people in South Carolina whose wealth was based on the stolen labor of enslaved people during the U.S. Civil War period. Wilson also relays information about hospitals, medicine, schools, cemteries, camp life and the military, and the issue of conscription.

Collection contains the academic writings, professional and personal correspondence, courses taught, and biographical information of Ira Gruber before and while a professor of History at Rice University.

The Jeanmarie Amend collection is a snapshot of the life of a student at Rice in the early 1980s. A prolific writer (both professionally and personally), Jeanmarie recorded several journals detailing her time at Rice. In addition to her school papers, the collection contains schoolbooks, news clippings, correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia--each contributing the the vibrant picture of Jeanmarie’s university days.

This collection consists of correspondence, publicity materials, a statement about the founding of the Joan and Stanford Alexander South Texas Jewish Archives, formerly known as the Houston Jewish History Archive (HJHA), meeting materials, newsletters, and news clippings that feature the work the STJA is doing to preserve materials belonging to individuals and synagogues in the Houston Jewish community following the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

This material was a part of Dr. John E. Mack's systematic research project at Harvard University through the 1990s to 2004, related to experiences of alien abduction.

John T. Jones, Jr. papers document his business dealings through his business and non-profit interests, and public appearances, as well as his personal and family life. Included are correspondence, newsclips, military records, income tax and insurance records, photographs and speeches.
