Biographical / Historical

John Thomas McCants was bursar of Rice University. He came to Houston in 1910 as secretary to Dr. Edgar Odell Lovett two years before the Rice Institute opened. He served as secretary to the president, as an instructor, and as bursar before retiring in September 1953. He died in October 1967.
