Alan Grob academic career records
The Alan Grob academic career records offer insight into the teaching and personal life of Rice University professor of English Alan Grob. Containing a large number of his lecture notes in addition to his writings, university related documents, and documents such as correspondence, photographs, and news articles, the collection helps preserve the memory of his impact at Rice.
Brown & Root / George R. Brown Executive Files
The bulk of this material consists of business records of the Brown & Root firm and Brown Shipbuilding Co., relating in particular to building projects and joint ventures with other companies such as Zapata Offshore, Texas Gulf Sulphur and ARMCO Steel, as well as internal operations of the firm. Formats include correspondence, internal memos, project site drawings, photographs, reports, notes, and newsclippings.
Card G. Elliott, Jr. Family collection
Letters, diaries, scrapbooks, and notebooks belonging to various members of the Elliott family, dating from 1830-1951. The majority of the collection's letters are from the early 20th-century, though some date from the U.S. Civil War (describing life in Mississippi). Other materials describe farm life in Kansas, railroad business, attendance at Rice Institute, and the family life of the Elliotts.
Charles C. Winnia Philippine American War papers
The Charles C. Winnia Philippine American War papers, 1883-1929, consist of eight boxes of correspondence, personal papers, and papers relating to Winnia's military career; photographs, post cards and other miscellaneous items; newspapers and newspaper clippings. Oversize material includes military maps and commissions.

Dick Hedges World War II Memorabilia Collection
This collection consists of books, magazines, newspapers, clippings, photographs, photograph albums, maps, town plans, reports, writings and memorabilia, which were collected by Dick Hedges while he was serving with the U. S. Army in Europe in World War II.
Engraved prints of Caprarola and Odense
This collection consists of 2 hand colored engraved prints. These appear to date from 1598 and 1700 but are mounted on acidic board and cannot be fully examined. The prints include bird's-eye views of Italian villa of Caprarola and Danish capital of Odense.
Floyd S. Edmiston World War I clothing and equipment collection
This collection consists of materials relating to the uniform and personal equipment of a soldier of the U.S. Army in World War I. In addition there are maps of the areas of operations and an artillery barrage chart for the Reymonville area, 1 November 1918.
Jeanmarie Amend Collection
The Jeanmarie Amend collection is a snapshot of the life of a student at Rice in the early 1980s. A prolific writer (both professionally and personally), Jeanmarie recorded several journals detailing her time at Rice. In addition to her school papers, the collection contains schoolbooks, news clippings, correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia--each contributing the the vibrant picture of Jeanmarie’s university days.
Jefferson Davis Association records
The records consist of drafts, galley proofs, revisions, page proofs, and typescripts. Also included are grant records, accounting receipts, correspondence, and other administrative files of the Jefferson Davis Association. Raw digital materials for the documentary "Jefferson Davis - an American President" (2008) are found in the Audio-Visual series.
