The account book includes individual wages for officers and crews; allowances for victuals; prices of provisions to be paid to and by the Purser; various allowances and expense lists; lists of French, Dutch and Algiers fleets, including ship names and guns; as well as lists of the major Royal Navy commands, the red, white, and blue squadrons, with ships assigned to each, their commanders, guns, and names of flag officers commanding.

Letter written during the Civil War by an anonymous Union Army prisoner- of-war, dated December18, 1864, and addressed from Libby Prison in Richmond, Virginia, to United States Senator William Wright of New Jersey, describing his worsening health while held in close confinement in the prison as hostage for a Confederate officer imprisoned in West Virginia, and urging the senator to intercede on his behalf to secure his exchange and release.

One box of photographs, citizenship documentation, marriage and death records, correspondence, biographical information, education records, military paperwork, and family history and genealogy materials document the lives of some of the Miron / Berman family from 1924 to 1982.

This collection contains letters to and from various high-ranking officers of both the U.S. Army and Navy.
