The collection consists of programs from annual Youth Excellence Recognition Award luncheons, the 25th anniversary celebration of the Vietnamese Culture and Science Association, newsletters of the association, and a program from a 2004 national conference of the National Alliance of Vietnamese American Service Agencies.

The Bapsi Sidhwa papers comprise the books, drafts, notes, and personal papers of the acclaimed American-Pakistani author Bapsi Sidhwa. Known for her captivating novels exploring mainly women’s issues in the Indian subcontinent, Bapsi has made her mark with her deeply insightful prose and outspoken voice.

Abstract

Possibly the first Filipino TV show in Houston, “Halo Halo TV” now exists as a web series, “Halo Halo Houston”--both focusing on Filipinx culture within the Houston Metropolitan area. Donated by the producer of the show, Cybil Pallugna-Saenz, this collection contains original recordings for the show, which made great strides of Filipino media representation in the early 2000s.

This collection consists of programs, newsletters, and clippings. These items were collected by Eufemia Chua during her time serving in leadership roles with the Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan Houston (PNAMH). The items included are from the years 1980, 1988, and 1996.

Abstract Judge Toni Ingversen was born in Manila, in the Philippines. Her family came to the U.S. in 1953; she grew up in Florissant, Missouri, receiving her bachelor's in political science from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 1968 before moving to Houston, where she earned her doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Houston in 1973.
