"Studies in English Literature 1500-1900" is a quarterly journal of historical and critical studies that is based at Rice University. The record group contains correspondence between authors/reviewers and the editors; some original typescripts and galley proofs; correspondence on rejected articles.

The collection consists of scrapbooks, minute books, financial records, and other materials relating to the founding and operation of both the Owen Wister Literary Society (OWLS) undergraduate group and the alumnae group, 1927-2002. OWLS was founded in 1924.

Documents related to the daily business of the Regional Information & Communication Exchange (R.i.C.E.), which was established in 1967 as a fee-based information service operating as a cost-recovery center within the division of community services of Fondren Library. RiCE closed in December 2003.

The records reflect the activities of the Rice University Commission on Women (RUCOW). The collection spans almost 20 years and consists of materials associated with the Commission's work including task force reports that summarize the state of women's affairs at Rice (benefits, salary, promotion, child care, campus climate and visibility), surveys, memoranda, campus controversies, internal correspondence, and a collection of scholarly articles concerned with women's issues in academia.

This collection consists of framed paintings, framed and unframed drawings, prints, sculptures, and other artworks donated to the Woodson Research Center/Rice University archives.

This collection contains correspondence, memos, budgeting and accounting records, and other materials associated with the operation of the Fine Arts Department of Rice University from 1960-1969. The bulk of the material is from 1965 to 1968.

The records consist of association by-laws, meeting minutes, correspondence, and awards. Included are lists of annual selections of Outstanding Engineering Student and Outstanding Engineering Alumni.

This collection consists of the membership and activity records of thirteen Rice Institute student organizations. The earliest date from 1938, and the latest are from 1962.

Correspondence, calendars of events, event programs, invitations, agendas, mailing lists, minutes, brochures, testimonials and more related to the celebration of the 2004 inauguration of Rice University's seventh president.

The collection consists of papers documenting the professional activity of Gilbert R. Whitaker, Jr. from the 1970’s through 2004, primarily at the University of Michigan and Rice University. Included are personal day books, correspondence, newsclips, speeches, and photographs.
