11. Jewish community

The collection contains correspondence, family photographs, slides, property deeds, post cards, VHS recordings, audio of bar mitzvah, newsletters, news clippings, membership cards, and scrapbooks spanning the years 1908 to 2012.

Two boxes of photographs, awards, event materials, yearbooks, news clippings and newsletters, family genealogy materials, and memorabilia document the Cooper Family's history and their activities in the Houston Jewish community from 1911 to 2013.

One box containing correspondence, newspaper articles, Temple Beth-El journals and bulletins, a Bar Mitzvah DVD and photo album, and memorabilia documents some activities that Melvin Cohen and the San Antonio Jewish Community were involved in from 1941 to 2014.

Three boxes of adminstrative and event materials, newsletters and news clippings, and general organizational materials document some of the activities of the National Council of Jewish Women - Greater Houston Section from 1989 to 2018.

One box of photographs, news clippings, and family correspondence documents the lives of members of Burgheim / Browning family from 1896 to 1985.

One box of news clippings, correspondence, and event materials document some of the history of the Levy / Lipper / Cohn families from 1922 to 1961.

One box of photographs, newsletters, speeches, and financial materials document some of Melvin Dow's activities related to Jewish advocacy for the State of Israel on a social, economic, and political level from 1946 to 2006.

One box of photographs, citizenship documentation, marriage and death records, correspondence, biographical information, education records, military paperwork, and family history and genealogy materials document the lives of some of the Miron / Berman family from 1924 to 1982.

One box containing Texas-Oklahoma-Louisiana Young Judaea regional directories, Camp Young Judaea summer camp brochure, and T-O-L Outlook newletters document some activities undertaken by members of Young Judaea from 1961 to 1991.

One folder of essays on Texas Jewry, a recording of Rabbi Stahl's ordination, and an oral history documents part of the life of Rabbi Samuel Stahl from 1967 to 2021.
