22. Rice University faculty and administrative records

Correspondence, programs, invitations, planning materials, photographs, press releases, news clippings, and other materials documenting the daily business of the Presidential Inaugural Committee as it prepared for the Oct. 29-31, 1993 inauguration of Malcolm Gillis.

Collection contains the writings and publications of Dr. Martin’s distinguished career dealing with religion, drug policy, religious fundamentalism and its effect on popular culture/politics, Texas churches, and life as a cancer survivor.

Records reflecting the official business of the Presidential Search Committee, 2002-2004, including documentation of student, faculty, and alumni input; nominations; candidate files; and white paper preparation. This search resulted in the hire of David Leebron as President of Rice University.

The collection consists of biographical sketches, invitations, news clippings, press releases and video clips relating to Nobel Laureates Robert Woodrow Wilson, Richard E. Smalley and Robert F. Curl.

Audio and video related to the daily work of the Rice University Office of University Relations.

Collection of blueprints, correspondence, financial records, photographs and more relating to the design, maintenance and furnishings of the Cohen House Faculty Club. Also includes samples of dishes and linens used in the original dining room as well as materials related to the Cohen family.

In 1997, Rice University began a national search for a new dean for the Wiess School of Natural Sciences. This collection contains records related to that search, including lists of committee members, lists of candidates, correspondence, university news releases and other related records, such as the 1997 strategic plan for the Wiess School of Natural Sciences.

The records reflect the daily business of the Rice University Fund Council. The collection spans more than thirty years and consists of materials associated with the Council's annual meetings, committees, special events, fund raising activities, groundbreakings, dedications, and copies of correspondence from the President's office.

This collection contains records of the first computer developed at Rice University (then Rice Institute) including correspondence, memoranda, manuals, news clippings, photographs, and drawings.

These records reflect the daily business of the Provost's office under interim Provost James Kinsey and Provost David Auston (1993-). They reveal the daily business of the Provost's Office, which has the overall responsibility for the institution's educational and research programs.
