11. Jewish community

The Gigi Yellen-Kohn family papers are comprised of documents, news-clippings, photographs, and memorabilia from the Yellen-Kohn family. A family tree of the Yellen-Kohn family can be found in the control folder.

The collection contains certificates, invitations, programs, news clippings, immigration paperwork, and photographs, which document the lives and activities of the Ehrenkranz / Wertheimer family from 1910 to 1990.

Two boxes of photographs, awards, event materials, yearbooks, news clippings and newsletters, family genealogy materials, and memorabilia document the Cooper Family's history and their activities in the Houston Jewish community from 1911 to 2013.

One box of photographs, news clippings, and family correspondence documents the lives of members of Burgheim / Browning family from 1896 to 1985.

Two boxes containing photos, a scrapbook, newspaper clippings, bulletins, booklets, and invitations document Bernice Kaufman's involvement with the National Council of Jewish Women from 1975 to 2005.

Three boxes containing newspaper articles, Congregation Beth Yeshurun journals, Texas Jewish Historical Society Membership Directories, Robert M. Beren Academy anniversary journals, Holocaust Museum Houston journals, brochures, and memorabilia document some activities that Dr. Debra Bootin was involved in from 1995 to 2017.

A Pleasantville brochure, a Jewish-Herald Voice Rosh Hashanah magazine, a B'nai B'rith Reflections Book, a photograph of Beth Jacob/Turnberry Circle, and Joske's and Weingarten employee pins document some activities that Terri Bamberger was involved in from 1951 to 2001.

One box containing bulletins, programs, newsletters, a wedding contract, books, and photographs documents the lives of the Shniderson family from 1931 to 1987.

One box containing the Action Newsletter produced by Judith Goldman, correspondence, photographs, news clippings, and speeches documents some of Judith Goldman's time as president of Houston Action for Soviet Jewry from 1983 to 2020.
