Abstract: This collection contains the editorial files of the Geophysical Research Letters during the editorship of Alexander J. Dessler (Space Science Dept., Rice University). It includes manuscripts of articles, referees’ reports, correspondence, office files, and more.

Scope and Contents This collection contains the project records from Fondren Library's renovation and expansion primarily from 1999 to mid-2000. The records of project coordination include architectural drawings, proposals, and documentary interviews. These records do not reflect the project's entire record. Records after mid-2000 are held by Facilities and Engineering's current project coordinator.

Abstract: The collection includes the research files of Dr. Hardin Craig, Jr., former Rice history professor. It includes notes on and copies of his A Bibliography of Encyclopedias and Dictionaries Dealing With Military, Naval, and Maritime Affairs, his Ph.D. dissertation, and various other research materials.

Overview Contains offprints of articles written by early Rice chemistry professor Harry Boyer Weiser between 1913 and 1950. The collection includes a complete bibliography of articles and books written by Weiser as well as some personal correspondence between Weiser and Rice Institute President E.O Lovett.

Overview The Herbert Allen papers include personal holdings, including biographical information, honors and awards, and personal correspondence. In addition papers dealing with his professional activities and patents are included, as are those dealing with his involvement with Rice University. Allen was an inventor and mechanical engineer who graduated from Rice Institute in 1929 where he later served on the Board of Governors and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Overview This collection contains a letter from Herbert Hoover to J. Hugh Jackson, Dean of Stanford University, informing him that Hoover nominated him for the Presidency of the Rice Institute.

Abstract: Papers of Holmes McNeely, director of the Rice [University] Owl Band 1951-67, with material including brochures, news clippings, photographs, slides, CDs of Rice Owl Band and Jefferson Davis High School Band concerts under McNeely’s direction, bound volumes of band music, and Rice Owl Band uniforms.
