22. Rice University student life

The Daley Papers include personal documents from Daley's high school and Rice University years, a play script and original artwork. There are also photographs of Rice and of World War II infantry and intelligence units, along with some newspaper clippings and correspondence from 1946 and 1963.

The Fred C. Alter papers contain correspondence, memorabilia, Rice notebooks, a personal scrapbook, photographs, and material related to the Robert P. Quin Award.

The Rice University Commencement files include programs, newsclippings and notes dating from the first commencement in 1916 up to the current day. A majority of the material has been digitized and is available online at https://scholarship.rice.edu/handle/1911/61371.

The collection consists of 284 8” by 10” black and white photographs of special occasions at Rice Institute, chiefly baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies. The photographs were collected by Captain James A. Baker and were presented in May 1960 to the Rice Institute Library in memory of Captain and Mrs. Baker by the Baker family.
