This collection contains audio/visual materials, publications, and photographs from the years 1920's-2011 related to El Paso Corporation. The El Paso Corporation system included Coastal Corporation, Colorado Interstate Gas, El Paso Natural Gas, Southern Natural Gas, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, and Ruby Pipeline.
Gulf Oil Research and Development Company Records
The collection consists of material representing the work of Abraham J. Teplitz, research scientist-engineer at Gulf Oil Research and Development Company, from 1926 through 1966. It includes technical reports either authored or jointly authored by Teplitz, a specialist in the technology of oil well drilling. Also included are two notebooks related to patents and a folder of memorabilia and one of photographs.
Herbert Allen business and personal papers
The Herbert Allen papers include personal holdings, including biographical information, honors and awards, and personal correspondence. In addition papers dealing with his professional activities and patents are included, as are those dealing with his involvement with Rice University. Allen was an inventor and mechanical engineer who graduated from Rice Institute in 1929 where he later served on the Board of Governors and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Robert Ray Herring Speeches
Robert R. Herring was president and CEO for Houston Natural Gas Corporation from 1967 to 1981. He gave many speeches to civic and professional societies during the time period 1957-1980, with the bulk of his speeches delivered in the 1970’s. This collection contains typewritten and handwritten notes of many of his speeches.
