Printed Works Teaching Collection
Printed works such as posters, comics, and books collected and purchased in support of Rice University's instruction in the areas of book arts and printng arts. Techniques include woodcuts, screenprints, letterpress printing, hand illustration, and more. This collection is developed by Fondren Library Collection Development Librarians, Special Collections Librarians, and campus partners especially in the Departments of Art and Art History.

The collection contains six boxes of correspondence, event materials (including programs, correspondence, and memorabilia), newsletters, bulletins, news clippings, books, photographs, financial documents, sermons, and video and audio material of events that document the history of Shearith Israel Congregation in Wharton, Texas, from 1921 to 2002.
"Sussex Owl" manuscript newspaper
This is a 426-page handwritten newspaper, published from September-January, 1866-1867 on board the British troop ship Sussex during her maiden voyage from Kingstown, Ireland to Kurrachee, India [Karachi, Pakistan].
Temple Freda [Bryan, TX] collection
The Temple Freda collection is made up of documents, photographs, and news clippings concerning one of the oldest religious buildings in Bryan, Texas. Though used for different things over the years, Temple Freda remains stalwart in its support for the Jewish community in Bryan, interacting with both congregation Beth Shalom, and the A&M Hillel in College Station.
Texas Mexico Border Campaign at Camp Stewart photographs
The collection consists of photographs of Camp Stewart at El Paso, Texas, and the infantry- and cavalry-men stationed there in 1916 for the Pershing Expedition in pursuit of Pancho Villa. There are two large framed panoramic views of the camp layout and a scrapbook of 148 mostly sepia snapshots.
