Description of Garibaldi's capture at Aspromonte
This volume includes a 5-page description, handwritten by Dumas, of an expedition in 1862 that led General Giuseppe Garibaldi unknowingly into the hands of Italian troops at Aspromonte, where he was taken prisoner along with his sons. It details how the unnamed conspirators pretended to get lost, leading Garibaldi to a cabin where he was captured.
Deutsches Notgeld currency album
This album of emergency paper currency measures 14-5/8”x11-5/8”x1-7/8” album with the printed title “Notgeld 1914-1924.” It contains approximately 640 separate pieces of the paper currency (Notgeld) issued by regional institutions in Germany and Austria-Hungary, primarily around the end of the World War I. Not issued by a central bank, Notgeld was not legal tender but rather an accepted means of payment in a particular locale.

Dillingham Family papers
The Dillingham Family Papers, consisting of approximately 900 items or 1.25 linear feet, follows the history of a prominent Texas family from 1858 to 1958. Correspondence, manuscripts, printed material, photographs, journals, poetry, and newspaper clippings show the life style of a family who moved into Texas during the prosperous era of the late nineteenth century and played an important role in developing both the social and economic framework of Houston.
