Biographical / Historical

Rice School of Architecture, also referred to as Rice Architecture was established in 1912 as the Department of Architecture. The School of Architecture’s faculty consists of about twenty full-time architectural practitioners, historians, and theoreticians, supplemented by visiting scholars, critics, and fellows. Rice Architecture is the smallest professional degree program situated within a top research university, allowing individual attention with the breadth of study afforded by a major university.
