Biographical Sketch
The Rice University Press was first established in 1982 with the goal of publishing works of academic significance, primarily from the Rice faculty, and topics of regional interest. It ceased operations in 1996 because of rising costs. It resumed publication in 2006 as an experimental all-digital, print-on-demand operation. The program was again discontinued on September 30, 2010 for budgetary reasons. Certain publications continue to be freely available on Rice University's Connexions site, www.cnx.org.
