Organizational Sketch
Archivists of the Houston Area (AHA!) was founded in 1998 by Houston archivists Lesley Brunet, Shelly Kelly, Mark Martin, and Gerianne Schaad to facilitate interaction among area archivists and repositories. By-laws were adopted and first officers elected in Dec. 2002, providing a more formal structure for the organization. AHA! membership includes, but is not limited to, those interested in preservation of the historical record, and exists to increase contact and communication among archivists and those working with records, to provide opportunities for professional development, and to promote archival repositories and activities in the greater Houston, TX area.

The collection contains six boxes of organizational records related to the founding and ongoing activities of the Archivists of the Houston Area, commonly known as AHA! The current website for the group is www.houstonarchivists.org.
Acquisition Information
The materials were originally collected and donated in 2003 by “”The Gang of Four,” Lesley Brunet, Shelly Kelly, Mark Martin, Geri Schaad, and subsequently added to by members of the AHA Executive Board.
