Biographical / Historical

The Reinermann, Sandman and Bethje families were German immigrants in Harris County, Texas, connected by one woman, Louisa Margerethe Agnes Schiermann. Louisa married Henry Reinermann, Jospeh Sandman Sr, and Christian Lodovic Bethje. She outlived the first two and passed away before the third. Henry Reinermann came to Texas with his parents John and Ann Reinermann.

Carl Wilhem Adolph Quensell, son in-law of Henry Reinermann. Born in Hanover Germany. Refered to as William Quensell in Texas. Married Louisa Reinermann, September 4, 1853. They had 10 children together, only 2 girls lived past 1 year. William served in the Civil War, during which he found a diary of a Union soldier, kept the diary and included his own. After the war he ran a sawmill and leased his land and helped others to do the same.
