Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a handwritten journal (118 pages) entitled “Dreams and Reveries of a Wanderer.” It was apparently kept by Charles D. Stuart during his travels through northwestern Virginia, near the Ohio River. The journal contains many philosophical and religious passages, as opposed to descriptive material. The journal also contains much poetry on topics such as nature, death, and religion.
