One folder containing a portion of the book of David Robinson's family tree (roughly 35 pages) prepared by Laura Nicholson for her brother, covering the relatives and descendants of his great-grandmother Adele Levy Heyman from 1777-1948. The family tree includes photographs and biographical information of family members.

Permission to publish material from the Adele Levy Heyman Family Tree must be obtained from the Woodson Research Center, Fondren Library.

The Woodson Research Center use policy is that researchers assume sole responsibility for any infringement of privacy, literary rights, copyrights, or other rights arising from their use of the archival materials. Biographical / Historical

Adele Levy was born June 16, 1881, in Brownsville, Tennessee, to Abe Levy and Bertha Steinfels Levy. Adele's mother died when she was young. Her father remarried and had two sons by that marriage. Adele was sent to live with her aunt and uncle, Rebecca Steinfels Brady and William Brady, in New York.

Adele married Howard Heyman in Ohio on November 27, 1902. The couple had one daughter, Bertha Louise, in 1904. They moved to Houston, Texas, in the 1930s.

Adele was chairperson of the Refugee Services Committee of the Jewish Community Council, which later became the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. Under her leadership, the Council resettled 485 people.

Adele Levy Heyman died August 17, 1948, and is interred at Beth Israel Cemetery in Houston, TX.
