11. Jewish community

Three boxes of adminstrative and event materials, newsletters and news clippings, and general organizational materials document some of the activities of the National Council of Jewish Women - Greater Houston Section from 1989 to 2018.

One box of photographs, news clippings, and family correspondence documents the lives of members of Burgheim / Browning family from 1896 to 1985.

This collection consists of one box containing correspondence, meeting materials, photographs, news clippings, etc. pertaining to the history and operations of the Jewish Institute for Medical Research from 1959-2019.

This collection which spans 1939 to 2018 includes a 1939-1943 notebook from the Refugee Services Committee which assisted Jews fleeing the Nazi regime in WWII, as well as a variety of photographs of people and events from the Federation's activities in the 1980s. The addendum includes event programs, guides, and one VHS recording.

Family history materials, photographs, a diploma, and a cemetery deed document the lives of members of the Pryzant family from 1920 to 1994.

This collection is made up of 51 boxes and includes materials from Congregation Adath Yeshurun, Congregation Beth El, and Congregation Beth Yeshurun; the Schwartz Family Library; materials from the congregations' merger; Shearith Israel Congregation in Wharton, Texas and a few other congregations from the years 1891-2021.

This collection is made up of six boxes containing administrative materials, bulletins, correspondence, event materials, organization/committee materials, photographs, publications, and transcripts of TV broadcasts from Congregation Emanu El, spanning the years 1943-2022.

The collection consists of publications for a variety of purposes: student recruitment; fund-raising; periodic reporting, particularly to parents; and recording of community guidelines. Also included are student publications and an I. Weiner School yearbook. There are a few programs from student theater productions. Newsclippings and correspondence are also included.

The collection consists of scrapbooks documenting the events and programs of Houston Hillel from 1975-2008, featuring photographs, event flyers, calendar, newsletters, news clippings, invitations, and other ephemera.

The collection consists of one box of correspondence, event materials, news clippings, newsletters, and institutional records such as, committee meeting minutes, speeches, and fundraising materials from Congregation Beth Am between 1978 and 2022 and an oral history with Rabbi Gideon Estes in 2020.
