Biographical / Historical

Christopher James Gholson, known professionally as Drumma Boy, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 11, 1983, to Billie and G. James Gholson. Gholson grew up in a musical family, including his mother who has a background in opera and his father, a retired clarenetist and music professor.

Drumma Boy's signature sound blends classic hip-hop beats with contemporary rap, drawing influence from jazz, R&B, and vintage soul. He's known for his intricate instrumentation, horns, and triple-kick drums. Drumma Boy is a Grammy Award-winning producer and has produced hits for major artists like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Usher, T.I., and Jeezy.
