Permission to publish from the Joseph R. Farrell collection must be obtained from the Woodson Research Center.

Biographical / Historical
Joseph Robert Farrell (1954-09-27 - 1977-07-12) was a composition major at the Shepherd School of Music, entering in Fall 1975, and thus one of the Shepherd School's earliest students. While studying compostion, Farrell also was in a band with classmate Howard Hill. In the band, Farrell wrote songs and played the piano, organ, synthesizer, and sometimes the guitar.
As a student, he composed more than fifty works for diverse vocal and instrumental combinations.
