Biographical / Historical
After being fired by Pres. Harry S. Truman, Gen. Douglas MacArthur traveled throughout the United States on a speaking tour. One of his early stops was Houston, TX where he delivered a speech in Rice Stadium. The speech focused on Communist forces weakening the U.S. from within and that only patriotism and Christianity could save the republic.
