Newspaper articles, political campaign materials, Texas and national Republican Party ephemera and publications reflecting the research interests of lawyer, author, scholar and Rice alumnus Douglas Harlan.

Research materials compiled by Dr. Keith Hamm, Edwards Professor in the Rice University Dept. of Political Science, dealing with development of specialization in U.S. state legislatures during the 20th century, policymaking, committee voting, interest groups, campaign finance, state laws, and reports.

These papers include correspondence between University of Houston economist Ervin Zingler and his wife, Gilberta, as well as academic materials, publications and awards.

The papers of anthropologist Dr. Edward Norbeck, an expert in the cultures of the Pacific Ocean area, consist of correspondence, lecture notes, article drafts dating from his years at Rice University and at the University of California at Berkeley.

This collection contains working drafts, business correspondence and receipts, and related material from "Rice University Studies," a university publication of scholarly works.

This collection contains the administrative files, meeting minutes and records, publications, audio/visual (DVDs) presentations, and reports for the Rice University Shell Center for Sustainability.

Correspondence documents the affairs of the Department of Political Science at Rice University between 1964 and 1967.

The Shirley Wetzel archaeology notes on Nottingham include both primary sources from Wetzel’s work on the 1890 Nottingham Lace Factory site, sources used in identifying archaeological finds, press surrounding the discoveries she made, and materials from her presentation of the work in 2007, such as maps and powerpoint slides.

This collection includes annual reports (2001-2005), deans’ strategic plans (2006-2007), external reviews (2008-2013) of the Departments of Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Anthropology, and Psychology, department records (1993-2007), and personnel files (restricted).

This donation from the estate of Rice University Prof. Gilbert Cuthbertson contains circa 10,000 books / bound volumes; circa 2,000 photographs; circa 15 audiorecordings; circa 41 cartons of manuscript materials. Subject areas include Texas and Central American history, Rice University history, political science, and more.
