Thomas Moore papers
Chiefly letters of Moore; together with correspondence, poems, engravings, clippings, and photos. Includes material relating to Wilfred S. Dowden, editor of Moore's letters. Correspondents include William Lisle Bowles, Lord and Lady Holland, Thomas Longman, Ellen Moore, James Power, Lord John Russell, Sir Walter Scott, and Mary Shelley.

Early Fondren Library manuscripts collection
This collection consists of an assortment of letters and papers acquired over a period of time and kept together. The collection consists of folders containing correspondence to and from historical / literary figures (Thomas Carlyle, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Jose de San Martin, George Bernard Shaw, Henry David Thoreau, William Wordsworth, and others). The largest part of the collection is correspondence of nineteenth century literary figures.
Claude Houghton papers
The collection contains manuscripts of English novelist and short story writer Claude Houghton's unpublished book "Kingdoms of the Spirit" and an original manuscript of Houghton's published novel "Julian Grant Loses His Way." Also included are correspondence to, from, and about Houghton.
Oren Arnold Manuscript and Galleys of "The Golden Chair"
This collection contains the typescript and galley proofs of the book "The Golden Chair", winner of the Southwest Literary Award. It was published by Elsevier Press in 1954. Mr. Arnold is a former student of Rice University where he was editor of the student newspaper the "Thresher" and president of the Writers Club. He was also Rice correspondent for the "Houston Chronicle."

The papers of sculptor William M. McVey include newsclippings, correspondence, photographs related to sculptures of McVey’s, and a scrapbook with photos and mementos of his student years at the Rice Institute.
Paul Blouët correspondence
This collection consists primarily of letters written by French author and journalist, Paul Blouët (pseudonym, Max O'Rell) between 1885 and 1903. The letters discuss Blouët's lecture tours, the management of his play "John Bull on the Continent", and his affliction with cancer.
E. B. Osborn letters
The collection consists of autographed correspondence between Edward Bolland Osborn (1867-1938) and James Nicol Dunn (1856-1919) between the years 1892 and 1909. The bound letters reveal a wide range of topics and interests that the two men shared from reviewing books and writing articles to professional achievements. The volume contains some biographical information about the two correspondents as well as a prepared index of topics and individuals mentioned in the letters.
