These papers consist of the academic and professional papers of Lars Lerup the former Dean of the Rice School of Architecture, 1993-2009.

Original letters, pamphlets, tabloids, printed materials, books, videos, maps, and photographs documenting the Texas city of Sugar Land during the 19th century and 20th century, including the creation and development of the Imperial Sugar company.

Abstract: These records include the original William Marsh Rice murder trial records, and the estate records of Rice, founder of Rice Institute, now Rice University. Abstract

This collection includes biographical information about individuals in the Ayers, Brown, McCarty, Martin, Diller, Boettner, Crump, Raynor, Ball, Freytag, and Bergeson, and families, among others. The bulk of the collection involves the life and careers of this kinship network, and their commerce, ministries, and artistic work product, and events ranging from the mid 19th century to the mid 20th century. Some documentary history of the Jitney Jungle grocery chain is included.

It includes correspondence, marketing materials, conference materials, reports, photographs, and electronic media that document the preparation leading up to the conferences and the activities during conferences.
