Photographs used in the Houston Chronicle and/or taken by Chronicle photographers document activities within the Houston Jewish community between the 1940s and 2000s.

News clippings, a dance card, reunion and senior class night programs, a high school yearbook, and photographs record events in Gertrude Denn's life - predominantly in the 1940s.

One box containing Beth Jacob materials, B'nai B'rith materials, World War II soldiers' handbook and Army prayer book, a wedding photograph, Galveston Tribune newspaper clippings, and correspondence documents the lives of members of the Farb family from 1939 to 2011.

A Congregation Beth Jacob new building dedication book and a 40th anniversary book document some of the history of the congregation from 1963 to 1971.

This collection is made up of 51 boxes and includes materials from Congregation Adath Yeshurun, Congregation Beth El, and Congregation Beth Yeshurun; the Schwartz Family Library; materials from the congregations' merger; Shearith Israel Congregation in Wharton, Texas and a few other congregations from the years 1891-2021.
