Abstract: This collection of materials relates generally to the personal life of Lynette S. Autrey and her family. The Autreys were Houston entrepreneurs and philanthropists, contributing significant gifts of land and funds to Rice University, among other institutions, in support of the humanities, social sciences, and business.

Overview The collection contains records and printed material on the early land holdings and dealings of William Marsh Rice and the Rice Institute in 45 Texas counties and 4 Louisiana parishes. The collection also contains records and printed material concerning early Rice Institute campus construction, legal matters (including judicial settlements and statements), institutional housekeeping (including receipts and invoices from 1891-1907), and campus area property and construction.

Abstract This collection highlights the founding of the Jones School and its daily business from 1974-2013. Records contain information relating to the school's history, bylaws, directories, correspondence, press releases, awards. It also contains items regarding fundraising, projects, lectures and seminars, and various corporate and individual contributors to the school.
