Abstract This collection consists of a handwritten manuscript (about 220 pages) by Edmund Clark Sanford. The manuscript contains Sanford’s thoughts on George Santayana’s book "The Sense of Beauty," as well as some of Sanford’s thoughts on aesthetics in general.

Content Description Correspondence, reports, research notes, and photographs created and/or maintained by Mr. Reginald Moore, relating to the history of the Convict Leasing System in Sugar Land, Texas and current efforts to publicly recognize that history. The reports included in this collection are in some cases publicly available, but are difficult to access. Correspondence includes letters and emails between Mr. Moore and various public officials and other interested parties such as archaeologist Fred McGhee.

Bourgeois, Professor of Romance Languages, at Rice University, concerning the life of Rene Boylseve, with particular reference to poems, written by him to Betty Halperine During the First World War. Rene Boylesve was the pseudonym of Rene-marie-auguste Tardiveau, a French novelist noted for his social histories set in the Touraine region of west-central France. Abstract: This collection contains notes and printed material largely related to John Minter’s study of the youth movement in the Berkeley, California area, including the resulting publication by Minter titled "Youth Alive." A great deal of the printed ephemera reflects the young adult “counter culture” of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Also included is some additional material on Christian movements in the Houston area.

Overview Written memoirs and typed transcripts of interviews relating student experiences at Rice Institute, later Rice University, representing many of the classes between the years 1916 and 1976. Half of these materials are in the form of 50th reunion booklets arranged by class year, and half of them are individual student's memories arranged by the student's last name.
