Founded in March 1976 by business, institutional and civic leaders, the South Main Center Association is a private, non-profit community and economic development organization which represents the residential, commercial and institutional interests of the approximately 12.5 square mile South Main area located within the inner loop. In 2005, the South Main Center Association (SMCA) was renamed the South Main Alliance. These records reflect the daily business of the organization.

William V. Houston Personal Papers
The William V. Houston Personal Papers document Houston's personal life and academic career beginning with his university education at Ohio State and Chicago in 1925, and continuing with his studies in Munich and Leipzig during 1927 and 1928 and his work at the California Institute of Technology from 1928 until he accepted the presidency of Rice Institute in 1946.
Women of Rice interviews and exhibition records
Correspondence, interview transcripts and materials related to Dr. Linda Driskill's Rice Women's Conference in 1999. The 2012-2013 interviews were conducted by students in two classes of the Introduction to the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, one under Dr. Lora Wildenthal and the other under Dr. Abigail Rosas, in preparation for the 2014 exhibition and symposium at Fondren Library.
