The collection consists of materials created between October 2008 and January 2010 concerning a possible merger between Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine. There are a preliminary technical report, news clippings, correspondence, meeting records of the Rice Faculty Senate, and descriptions of past and possible future collaborative activity between Rice and B.C.M.

These papers include research files, course materials, selected student papers, and documents related to the daily and annual business of the sociology department, including financial reports, departmental memos, faculty evaluations, and correspondence. In addition there are drafts, typescripts, and published articles written by Elizabeth Long.

Correspondence, news clippings, contracts, speeches, reports, minutes, and other types of documents used in conducting the business of the President’s Office from the Assistant to the President, Mark Scheid 1999-2006.

This collection contains records regarding the travels, expenses, and applications created by the Associate Provost between 1997 and 2004. These include information on travels of the Associate Provost and members of the Office, records of travel and other expenses, and applications to Rice's Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT).

These records reflect the business conducted in the offices of Rice University Provost, (Acting) President, and Chancellor during Dr. Croneis' tenure in those positions, 1954-1970. Materials include correspondence, reports, and newsclippings pertaining to a wide variety of university activities. Records are arranged alphabetically according to folder titles assigned in the respective offices from which they came.

Records created by or pertaining to the Dean of Students, including Honor Council cases and disciplinary records.

These papers include the correspondence, memos, newsclips, and information on candidates under consideration from the Faculty-Student Committee for the Selection of a President following the August 1968 resignation of Kenneth Pitzer.

This collection consists of two documents, a 1995 report of the faculty and staff General Announcements Review Committee and a draft of a 2006 report by Christopher Dow of the Publications Office.

Rice University News and Media Relations has also been known in the past as News and Publications. This office creates and manages news releases on behalf of the university. The photo and biographical files in this collection were created and manitained by that office for use in such news releases.
