This collection consists of astronomer Albert Van Helden’s academic papers and encompass his work with various professional organizations, as well as with Rice University related committees and projects.

Content Description Dr. Williams papers include his correspondence, and resources gathered over the period 1983 to 2020. The main thrust of his work was directed at gathering information about and categorizing the status of individuals involved avocationally in astronomy. Abstract

This collection contains 242 astronomical photographic glass plates collected by Rice University's Dr. Reggie Dufour. The majority were taken at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in the Coquimbo Region of northern Chile. A small number of the plates were taken at the Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson Arizona.
