This collection contains a Benham family tree, general historical survey, and original and facsimile correspondence between Benham family members. Included in the correspondence are some original envelopes with British stamps and wax seals. Items have been tipped-in to a bound volume.

Captain James A. Baker of Houston, 1857-1941 biography research materials
The collections contains extensive research files on James A. Baker and his family, including biographical, genealogical and law firm, recollections of family members and friends, correspondence and newsclips, as well as numerous photographs of family members, houses and family events. This material was gathered in 2011-2012 by Kate Kirkland in preparation for the publication of her biography of Baker, published in 2012.
Chamberlain-Cravens-Cullinan family papers
The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, personal records, genealogy books, memorabilia, audio and visual materials, and ephemera collected by Nancy Cravens Chamberlain and representing the lives of her grandfather, Joseph Stephen Cullinan; her parents, Mary Cullinan and James R. Cravens; and herself and her siblings.
Colonel Cyrus Burnet Smith U.S. Civil War papers
Dr. Cyrus Smith served as a surgeon in the U.S. Civil War. His papers include his diary, military passes, induction and discharge papers, correspondence, photographs, hospital reports, bills of lading relating to the cotton trade in 1850's and Smith's thesis from Medical School.
Dresel and Spiess families records
This collection consists of several hundred typewritten pages and many photographs of people and places concerning the immigration of Germans into Texas, most notably the Dresel and Spiess families. Most of the material focuses around the middle of the nineteenth century when Gustav Dresel and Hermann Spiess settled in Galveston and Waco Springs, respectively. Clyde H. Porter compiled the material.

Grover Smith collection of Aldous Huxley correspondence
The Grover Smith papers are largely comprised of photocopies of letters between literary critic and author Aldous Huxley and numerous correspondents -- literary, scientific, friends, and family -- mainly from Great Britain and the U.S., dating from 1908-1985, bulk years 1930s-1950s. Some original correspondence between Julian Huxley and Smith exists, which relates to Smith's publication of the Huxley letters as Letters of Aldous Huxley, Harper & Row, 1970.
