Janice Rubin papers
The collection consists of five boxes of correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, programs, photographic material, and media (digital oral history, VHS, audio cassettes, and CDs) that document some of Janice Rubin's activities as a teacher, musician, and photographer within the Houston Jewish community from 1941 to 2023. Also included is a packet of materials provided to Jewish service members during World War II.
Joseph I. Davies papers
The Davies papers include papers, lecture notes, glass slides, and transparencies produced by Joseph I. Davies, who came to Rice Institute (later Rice University) in 1914 with Julian Huxley as his lab assistant, later received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Rice, and from 1929 to 1966 served as a member of the Rice faculty. The glass slides and transparencies taken by Davies include scenes of the early development of the Rice campus as well as later campus scenes and individuals.
O. Jack Mitchell architecture papers
This collection contains the personal and academic papers of Houston architect O. Jack Mitchell. Included in the collection are Mitchell’s consulting projects, Houston organizations projects, numerous slides of cities around the world, film reels of lectures, and various other architectural materials.
