Abstract:

Personal correspondence, and reviews of German author and professor of history of literature Josef Nadler's publications, as well as unpublished mss. of Nadler's writings, and seminar papers presented to him while he was a professor. The collection also includes research notes and materials on J.G. Hamann, such as bibliographical information, and other information on him, his philosophy, or his impact.

Abstract

The academic papers of Mark Kulstad contain hand-written notes from his graduate studies, hand-written comments on his drafts of published articles on Leibniz, Spinoza, Descartes and Locke, his published articles on Leibniz, Spinoza, and Descartes, his hand-written notes from History of Philosophy conferences, and student's hand-written evaluations of his work at Rice.

Abstract Max Freund was Professor of German and Head of the German Department at Rice and active in the German-American Societies of Houston. This collection consists of course preparation materials for various German subjects he taught, such as Philology, Phonetics, and Literature. Much of the material is in German and came unidentified as to content. It has been rough sorted but left in the order it was received.
