Permission to publish from the Celia Hutchison photograph collection must be obtained from the Woodson Research Center.

The Woodson Research Center use policy is that researchers assume sole responsibility for any infringement of privacy, literary rights, copyrights, or other rights arising from their use of the archival materials. In addition to any restrictions placed by donors, certain kinds of archival materials are restricted for the life of the creator plus 50 years. These materials include, but are not limited to, student grades, transcripts, and any job applications or recommendations.

Biographical / Historical

Celia Hutchison was a longtime Houston resident married to Sean Walters, a well-known musician and songwriter in the city’s folk-rock community. For over twenty years, Celia was a team member at Vitreo Retinal Consultants in Houston while pursuing her passion for photography. During the 1980s, she turned her love for photography into a small business, capturing everything from family vacations and portraits of friends and relatives to a rich portfolio of promotional photos and headshots for local bands in the area. Her work also included event photography, documenting both musical and non-musical occasions, adding a unique, intimate view to Houston’s vibrant cultural scene.
