Permission to publish from the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology oral histories must be obtained by the Woodson Research Center.

The Woodson Research Center use policy is that researchers assume sole responsibility for any infringement of privacy, literary rights, copyrights, or other rights arising from their use of the archival materials. In addition to any restrictions placed by donors, certain kinds of archival materials are restricted for the life of the creator plus 50 years. These materials include, but are not limited to, student grades, transcripts, and any job applications or recommendations.

Biographical / Historical

In 1989, President Bush selected Dr. D. Allan Bromley, a physicist from Yale University, as his Assistant to the President for Science and Technology and he was later confirmed as director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). The following year, Bush reestablished the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), with Bromley serving as chairman.
