Biographical / Historical
The collection includes documents and photographs related to property in West University Place, a subdivision in Harris County, Texas. The property was originally purchased by James A. Metcalf Sr., who worked in facilities and maintenance at Memorial Hospital in Houston, and built the original home on the property. The construction process and the home are documented in photographs from 1923 in the collection. The materials were kept by James A. Metcalf, Jr., who earned his PhD. from Texas A & M and taught biology. His husband, Scott Lundrey, donated the materials.
