Sherry Merfish Papers
The collection contains correspondence, awards, memorabilia, photographic slides, speeches, sermons, and conference/meeting and marketing/publicity materials that document Sherry Merfish's activism to end the negative stereotyping of Jewish women in the guise of the "Jewish American Princess" and, to a lesser extent, her work with EMILY'S List.
Eisenberg Family Papers
This collection consists of one folder containing newsclippings, a marriage certificate, photographs of Adath Yeshurun and Beth Yeshurun, an Adath Yeshurun newsletter, and a list of San Jacinto High School class of 1949 graduates.
Fisher family papers
The Fisher Family papers include materials related to Rabbi Henry Cohen and his tenure at congregation B’nai Israel. A writer as a well as a scholar and community activist, Cohen’s knowledge of Jewry in Texas survives in the writings he left behind.
Shelby D. Goodman collection
The Shelby D. Goodman collection contains concept sketches and photographs of two of Goodman’s most influential buildings--the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston Building and the Kaplan Museum of Judaica. In addition, the collection has several religious group photographs, and six sound recordings of Jewish religious music, offering a rich insight into Jewish spaces and traditions in the community.
Robert M. Beren Academy records
This collection consists of one box containing invitations, journals, parent handbooks, marketing pamphlets, news clippings, newsletters, photographs and negatives, a scrapbook and yearbook, and meeting materials that include minutes, correspondence, and budget information which documents part of the history of the Robert M. Beren Academy from 1969 to 2010 and two class photos of unknown origin from 1960.
Robert Levy Family Papers
As part of the Los Angeles Jewish community, Robert Levy interacts with a number of its organizations and institutions. Mostly dated in the early 1930s, Robert Levy’s family papers offer a glimpse of Jewish life in Los Angeles nearly a century ago.
Friedman Family Papers
Made up of mostly class photos from Beth Yeshurun Day school, the Friedman Family papers show David and Rachel Friedman growing up in the tight-knit community formed by Beth Yeshurun’s outreach to Houston Jews.
Kristal Family Papers
The collection consists of one box of correspondence to members of the Kristal family from 1921 to 1925, including two wedding invitations, and one news clipping. The majority of the correspondence is in Yiddish and much of it is from relatives in the Poland.
Dattle Family Papers
The Dattle Family papers are made up of certificates, records, and a photo recording the marriage and military service of Phillip Dattle.
Carolyn Litowich (BBG) Papers
The collection contains one box of convention materials, newsletters, directories, and event materials collected by Carolyn Litowich during her time as a member of B'nai B'rith Youth Organiztion/B'nai B'rith Girls in the 1950's.
