Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, awards, and memorabilia of Rear Admiral Philip Carleton Koelsch (1921-1993), a 1942 Naval Academy graduate, from his years of military service as well as that of his brother, John Kelvin Koelsch, recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor for whom the USS Koelsch (Destroyer Escort) was named. Koelsch family members are also represented in the collection.

Materials Note
Errett Lobban Cord: Uncle of Mrs. Doris Koelsch. Doris and her husband Peter Hubbard Koelsch met when Peter's father was asked by the Bank to look after Cord's business when Cord was in London. All the family including Peter's mother lived in California (Los Angeles) from the 1940's on. Errett and his wife moved to Nevada in later years for tax reasons.
