Correspondence with Florence, 1959-1960
Scope and Contents
The collection includes correspondence, facsimiles of texts in Hebrew, Arabic, and Latin, medical vocabulary index cards in these languages, and publications of translated versions of medical texts from the Middle Ages. Correspondence mainly consists of letters between the author and various libraries, museums, and journal editors. The authors’ collection of texts is focused mainly on the medical aspects of the writings of Maimonides (1135-1204) and other Arab authors of the Middle Ages. Index cards in the collection contain Hebrew, Arabic, and English translations of common medical terminology and library holdings. Publications in the collection consist of work by the author related to the translation of these medical texts and work by other authors about similar subjects. The microfilm included here is made up of medical texts from various libraries and museums, especially in Europe.
